Define the scope of integration
Arafura describes Nolans as a mine and processing development incorporating beneficiation, extraction and separation at the project site. That is a defined project scope, not evidence that every downstream magnet-manufacturing activity belongs to it.
Write the intended saleable product at the end of your diagram. Integration has meaning only relative to those boundaries. An oxide-producing development and a finished-magnet manufacturer may both use the term integrated while spanning very different industrial activities.
Track dependencies between the work packages
For each part of the scope, identify the next verifiable milestone and the activity that depends on it. Mine preparation, process equipment, utilities and commissioning can progress unevenly. A completed early work package should not silently advance the status of every other component in your research record.
Review funding announcements against the construction programme they are intended to support. Keep commitments, conditions and actual execution separate. This is an industrial evidence review, not a valuation or a recommendation to buy the security; financial suitability requires a broader analysis than project progress alone.
Use an integrated-project challenge question
In an illustrative review, a company reports major mine works while a separation package remains on the critical path. Ask whether the schedule for first saleable product still depends on that package and associated utilities. The point is not to discount progress, but to identify which unfinished activity can still determine the commercial start of the overall route.
A Nolans-style development review
| Work package | Evidence to retain |
|---|---|
| Mine and beneficiation | Readiness of the intended feed |
| Extraction and separation | Equipment, commissioning and product scope |
| Supporting systems | Utilities and infrastructure needed for operation |
Your review checklist
- Define the endpoint of integration.
- Track work packages separately.
- Identify the critical unfinished dependency.
- Keep financial commitments distinct from completed execution.
Investigate with Oreline

Does integrated mean mine-to-magnet?
Only if the disclosed scope includes those stages. Always identify the actual saleable endpoint.
Can one status describe the whole project?
A headline status can aid navigation, but an execution review should preserve the milestones and dependencies underneath it.
